Our differences & our advantages
At Seconde Patte, we have chosen an approach that differs from the traditional dog boarding kennel. Our priority is not to keep dogs constantly occupied, but to respect their physical and emotional well-being.
Unlike many boarding facilities in Haute-Savoie and around Geneva, we do not impose constant interaction between dogs. Constant stimulation can lead to stress, fatigue, or undesirable behaviors. This is why we structure each day to alternate between activity, rest, and periods of calm.
We offer a family-like setting, without cages or kennels, where every dog is treated as an individual in their own right. The goal is simple: to provide a secure, soothing, and adapted environment in which your dog can thrive peacefully throughout their stay.
How is my dog's day going?
Each day is designed to respect the dog's rhythm. We alternate between different periods to avoid overstimulation and promote overall balance.
Rest periods are essential, especially at night, when the dogs stay in a calm, comfortable indoor space, without crates. During the day, breaks are also scheduled to allow the dogs to relax and recover.
Playtime is organized in groups or individually, depending on the dogs' affinities. The dogs have access to a secure park where they can exercise, explore, and interact in good conditions.
Quiet times are integrated throughout the day, either in a group when the dogs know how to settle down, or in quieter spaces if necessary.
Finally, varied activities are offered every day to mentally stimulate the dogs, enrich their environment, and break the routine.
Adapted groups, a trained team, and a flexible approach
Dogs move in small groups formed based on their affinities, temperament, and energy level. This organization helps ensure balanced interactions and a serene environment.
Our team is trained in canine behavior, which allows us to observe, understand, and supervise every interaction. Each integration is carefully considered to respect the pace and needs of every dog.
We do our utmost to adapt to different profiles. Certain situations can be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the dog and the conditions for their stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss this.
Rates and terms of the boarding house
To join our dog boarding facility, dogs must be vaccinated, microchipped, insured, and up to date with their parasite treatments.
A social test must also be passed; lasting 30 to 45 minutes, it allows us to evaluate whether the dog can safely join the boarding facility. It is included in the price of the first service if successful. In case of failure, only the test is charged (€25) and the rest of the service is refunded (if carried out more than 21 days before the start of the service). A new test may be requested if one of the team members deems it necessary, even after an initial experience.
The contract must be signed before any service, and the boarding regulations accepted.
In general, dogs must be sociable with other dogs and with humans. We cannot accommodate dogs with vocalization problems.
However, some situations can be considered on a case-by-case basis. Since every dog is unique, we take the time to evaluate the possibilities according to its profile and the current hosting conditions.

Throughout the stay, the boarding facility provides the food (Eukanuba kibble); if necessary, you may provide your own kibble. For sanitary reasons, we do not handle other dietary regimens (BARF, RAW, RM, etc.).
To ensure high-quality care, we do not respond to follow-up requests by phone during stays. During holiday periods (October 17 to November 2, 2026; December 19, 2026 to January 4, 2027; February 13 to March 1, 2027; April 10 to April 26, 2027; July 3 to September 3, 2027) and public holidays, a 10% surcharge applies to all services.
