Payment of the pension
Access to the boarding facility implies full acceptance of these regulations.
Access to the boarding facility implies full and unreserved acceptance of these regulations.
1. Booking and access conditions
Reservations can be made via the website, by phone, by email, or by any other means of communication used by Seconde Patte.
All reservations are subject to the prior validation of a social assessment and, for a first stay, a mandatory trial day.
To be accepted for boarding, the dog must be sufficiently comfortable with humans and other dogs, and must possess communication skills suited to group living.
The dog does not need to want to play with all other dogs, but must be able to interact with them in a sufficiently calm and appropriate manner.
Any behavioral difficulty or particularity that could impact care must be reported before the service begins, in particular any history of biting, attempted biting, escaping, destructive behavior, or conflict with a human or another dog.
Each situation can be reviewed individually by Seconde Patte to determine whether appropriate care is possible.
2. Social test and trial day
For any initial intake, a social assessment must be carried out in the presence of the owner.
This appointment provides an opportunity to meet the dog, talk with the owner, introduce the premises, facilities, and the boarding kennel's operations, as well as evaluate whether their stay can be accommodated under good conditions.
Passing the social assessment does not constitute final approval for access to the boarding kennel.
A trial day must be completed before the first stay in order to observe the dog's behavior over a longer period and assess their actual acclimation to the kennel's environment and operations.
The boarding trial day includes the full day as well as the night and is charged at €40 including tax.
Final approval for integration occurs only at the end of this trial day.
Throughout the duration of the trial day, the owner must remain reachable at all times and be available to the team in order to be able to come and pick up their dog quickly at the request of Seconde Patte.
If the trial day is cut short at the initiative of Seconde Patte, particularly for reasons of incompatibility, behavior, or the dog's well-being, it remains payable in full.
If a social assessment has already been carried out in the past and doubt remains concerning the dog's adaptation to the boarding kennel, Seconde Patte may request that a new assessment be performed.
3. Pricing and billing
Each started 24-hour period for boarding is charged at €40 incl. tax per dog.
The day of arrival and the day of departure are considered full days and are charged at the applicable rate, regardless of the animal's arrival or departure time.
A supplement of €5 incl. tax per day may be applied when care requires special organization, supervision, or arrangements, particularly in cases of reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety, lack of house training, or other specific needs.
A supplement of €5 incl. tax per day is also applied when the team must administer treatment to the dog.
When Seconde Patte must provide the dog's food, a supplement of €4 incl. tax per day is applied.
Home transport services are charged at €0.50 incl. tax per kilometer round trip, regardless of the number of dogs transported.
During school holiday periods and public holidays, a 10% surcharge is applied to services.
For 2026-2027, the periods concerned are:
October 17 to November 2, 2026, December 19, 2026 to January 4, 2027, February 13 to March 1, 2027, April 10 to April 26, 2027, July 3 to September 3, 2027.
4. Cancellation and refund
Any service cancelled 21 days or more before its scheduled date will be fully refunded.
In the event of cancellation less than 21 days before the start of the service, no refund can be issued.
A credit valid for one year may only be granted in the event of the animal’s illness, accident, or death, subject to the presentation of documentation establishing the situation, such as a veterinary certificate in the case of illness or accident.
Any service that has commenced remains due in full, even if it must be interrupted before its completion, for any reason whatsoever.
5. Arrival and departure times
Arrivals and departures are organized during the time slots communicated by Seconde Patte at the time of booking.
In order to allow for proper organization of the boarding facility and to maintain the tranquility of the dogs being hosted, the agreed-upon times must be respected.
Any arrival or departure outside of the scheduled times may result in an additional charge of €3 for each additional hour started, subject to prior agreement from Seconde Patte.
6. Trip organization
Seconde Patte organizes the days by alternating periods of activity, outings, calm, and rest.
For a full day, Seconde Patte generally aims for between 2 and 3 hours of physical activity per day, spread throughout the day.
Activity times are mainly carried out outdoors. Periods of calm and rest are primarily organized indoors, in an adapted environment that allows the dogs to recover.
The organization of the stay is adapted according to the age, health status, energy level, behavior, and specific needs of each dog.
Seconde Patte does not guarantee an identical amount of activity for each dog and may adapt or reduce activities based on factors such as weather conditions, temperature, the animal's level of fatigue, or behavior.
Dogs are only put in contact with other dogs when their profiles are considered compatible.
7. Health and vaccinations
The owner certifies that their dog is medically and physically fit to participate in boarding services.
They agree to report any illness, frailty, accident, treatment, or health peculiarity, however minor.
The dog must be up to date with the following vaccinations:
- Canine Distemper (D/C)
- Infectious Canine Hepatitis (H)
- Parvovirus (P)
- Parainfluenza (Pi)
- Kennel Cough (B/Bb), mandatory for boarding
- Rabies (R), mandatory for dogs residing in Swiss territory or being brought across the Swiss border
The owner must be able to present the animal's health record or passport to verify the validity of the vaccinations.
The dog must also be correctly treated against internal and external parasites before its arrival.
Seconde Patte reserves the right to refuse boarding or to interrupt the service for any dog whose health condition could pose a risk to itself or to other boarded animals. In the event of a refusal of boarding or interruption of service for this reason, the full cost of the service remains due.
8. Illness or health problem during the stay
If a dog shows signs of illness during its care, including vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, fever, discharge, lethargy, or any other unusual symptom, Seconde Patte may immediately isolate it and interrupt the service if necessary.
In the event of a health issue that is not life-threatening, Seconde Patte will inform the primary contact as well as the emergency contact and await their instructions for a maximum period of two hours.
In the absence of a response within this time frame, Seconde Patte may take the animal to a veterinarian to obtain a medical opinion.
In case of a suspected life-threatening emergency, the animal will be immediately taken to the most suitable open and available veterinarian, without waiting for the primary contact's approval.
The primary contact and the emergency contact will be informed as soon as possible.
Once the animal is entrusted to the veterinarian, medical decisions rest exclusively with them.
Veterinary, transport, and care costs remain entirely the responsibility of the primary contact.
Seconde Patte cannot be held responsible for consequences related to a pre-existing health condition or one that occurred naturally during care, subject to applicable legal obligations.
In the event of the animal's death during its care, Seconde Patte cannot be held responsible when it results from a medical cause, a health condition, or an event beyond its control, subject to applicable legal obligations.
9. Methods used and behavior
Seconde Patte exclusively uses positive and respectful methods, based on knowledge of animal behavior and welfare.
Any request contrary to these principles may lead to the interruption or cancellation of the service.
Behavioral issues must be reported prior to the stay.
Seconde Patte may terminate care if the dog's behavior poses a risk to itself, other dogs, humans, or the facilities.
10. Power Supply
Only food in the form of kibble is accepted.
BARF diets, home-cooked meals, raw food diets, or other specific diets are not accepted.
The kibble must be provided by the owner in sufficient quantity for the entire duration of the stay and in a suitable, airtight, and rigid container, with the exception of kibble bags.
In the absence of provided food, Seconde Patte may provide kibble and apply the supplement stipulated in Article 3.
The owner must provide all relevant information regarding the dog's feeding quantities and habits.
11. Drug treatments
Any medical treatment or health issue requiring special care must be reported before the start of the stay.
When the Seconde Patte team is required to administer treatment to the dog, a supplement of €5 incl. tax per day will be applied.
The contact person must provide medication in sufficient quantity for the entire duration of the stay, as well as the necessary instructions for its administration.
In case of doubt regarding the administration of a treatment or the dog's health condition, Seconde Patte may request further information from the contact person or an animal health professional.
12. Cleanliness and soiling
Dogs accepted must be house-trained.
Puppies or dogs still in the process of being house-trained may be accepted subject to prior agreement.
A supplement of €5 incl. tax per day may be applied when a dog's lack of house-training or specific needs require additional cleaning or organization.
Seconde Patte makes every effort to keep dogs in a state of cleanliness suited to their well-being.
However, outdoor activities, weather conditions, play, and interactions with the environment may cause them to get dirty.
The owner acknowledges that their dog may be returned in a different state of cleanliness than that observed upon arrival.
13. Management of females in heat
Any female showing signs of heat, or for which there is a strong suspicion, may be immediately isolated to avoid any risk with the other dogs.
Upon booking, the primary contact must provide an emergency contact reachable for the entire duration of the stay and capable, if necessary, of coming to pick up the dog.
As soon as heat is discovered or suspected, the primary contact or the emergency contact must come to pick up the female as soon as possible.
If the dog cannot be picked up immediately, a supplement of €15 incl. tax per day may be charged to cover the additional constraints related to its isolation, monitoring, and specific organization.
The primary contact acknowledges that managing a female in heat may require special measures and agrees to assume the costs thereof.
14. Emergency contact
When making a booking, the primary contact must provide an emergency contact reachable for the entire duration of the stay.
This person must be informed of their designation and be able to come and collect the dog if necessary.
The emergency contact may be called upon in particular in the event of health problems, the dog coming into heat, incidents, behavioral incompatibility, or any situation requiring a rapid response.
If the primary contact and the emergency contact cannot be reached, Seconde Patte may take the measures it deems necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the dog, including calling upon competent services or a veterinarian when the situation justifies it.
Any costs incurred in the interest of the dog remain the responsibility of the primary contact.
15. Accessories and personal effects
Seconde Patte advises against bringing personal accessories that are not necessary for the stay.
Beds, toys, blankets, leashes, collars, harnesses, bowls, and other items brought by the owner remain their responsibility.
Seconde Patte cannot be held responsible for their loss, wear, or damage resulting from normal use by the dog or from its behavior.
16. Deterioration and damage
Any destruction or damage caused by the dog to the premises, equipment, materials, or property of Seconde Patte or third parties remains entirely the responsibility of the fosterer.
The fosterer will be informed of any damage noted, and repair or replacement costs may be billed to them.
The fosterer also remains responsible for any material or bodily harm caused by their animal to Seconde Patte, its staff, other animals hosted, or any third party, under the conditions provided by applicable legislation.
The fosterer certifies that their dog is covered by appropriate civil liability insurance and agrees to provide a certificate upon request.
17. Mandatory documents
Before any initial care, the primary contact must provide, no later than 24 hours before the start of the service:
- the completed and signed information form;
- this completed and signed contract;
- the health record and/or passport to verify vaccinations;
- the animal's identification number.
The primary contact also certifies that their dog is covered by appropriate third-party liability insurance.
Any changes regarding the information provided must be reported to Seconde Patte before the start of the stay.
18. Accuracy of information
The owner certifies that they have provided accurate and complete information regarding their dog.
In particular, they undertake to report any factor likely to affect the care provided, especially regarding the dog's health, behavior, sociability, or history.
In the event of incorrect, incomplete, or intentionally omitted information, Seconde Patte may interrupt or cancel the service, which will remain due in full.
19. Delay or failure to collect the dog
The dog must be picked up on the date and at the time agreed upon during booking.
Any time exceeding the scheduled hours may result in an additional charge of €3 per started hour, subject to Seconde Patte’s schedule.
In the event of a significant delay or failure to pick up the dog, the contact person and the emergency contact will be reached to find an appropriate solution.
Additional fees may be applied for any extra care period not included in the initial booking (minimum 20% surcharge).
20. Right to image
Unless the contact person provides written opposition to Seconde Patte under the conditions specified in the contract, Seconde Patte and its photographer Instinctiv are authorized to use the dog's photographs and videos taken during its stay for communication purposes on various Seconde Patte platforms.
The specific terms of this authorization are defined in the contract signed by the contact person.
21. Final Provisions
These regulations can be consulted online and on-site upon request.
Any booking and any intake implies full and complete acceptance of these regulations, the signed contract, as well as the specific terms applicable to the reserved service.
In the event of a contradiction between these regulations and a specific provision of the signed contract, the provisions of the signed contract shall prevail.
Access to the boarding facility implies full acceptance of these regulations.
