Daycare social assessment

The social assessment is an important step before your dog's first visit to daycare. It allows us to get to know your dog and best adapt our welcome.

The assessment lasts about 1 hour and costs €25. It is free of charge if a service is booked in advance.

Why this test?

The goal is simple: to understand your dog so we know which environment they will be most comfortable in, and how we can organize things to ensure everything goes well for them.

We observe their general behavior, their relationship with humans, their ability to handle separation, as well as their capacity to thrive in a group living setting, such as in a kennel.

This is not a test. There is no “pass” or “fail.”

Above all, we are looking to see if this environment is right for your dog.

Procedure

The test takes place in several progressive stages.

We begin with a welcome session with you, which allows us to both verify administrative information and observe your dog in a calm environment.

Your dog is then taken charge of by a member of the team for a moment without you. This allows us to evaluate their ability to separate, interact with an unfamiliar human, and be handled.

A situational exercise with other dogs is also carried out to observe their communication and ability to interact in a group.

The test also includes a short time alone, as well as a transport test if necessary (tolerance to a travel crate).

If a situation causes stress or discomfort, we interrupt the stage.

This does not mean your dog is incompatible: the goal is precisely to adjust and see what may work for them.

At the end of the test

The test is valid for 1 year. It may be requested again in the event of a significant change in the dog's life or a change in its behavior.

In some cases, we may identify points that make this format unsuitable, such as:

  • marked stress during separation or when left alone
  • protective behaviors towards humans or resources
  • difficulty being handled or cared for

In these situations, it does not mean that your dog is “unsuitable”.

It simply means that the boarding format does not meet their current needs, or that we are unable to offer a sufficiently adapted environment for them.

Once the test has been completed, it grants access to the trial day.

Our approach

We do not close the door to any dog.

Even in difficult situations, we encourage you to contact us. We always take the time to talk and see what is possible.

We know how complicated it can be to find suitable solutions, especially for reactive or sensitive dogs.

That is why we always do our best to offer tailored support, while respecting each dog.
